The Balena Project (174km2) covers an interpreted structural belt parallel to the belt that hosts mineralisation at the Tiekoumala resource and gold occurrences including the Company’s Diendo and Tanala Project areas.
Limited previous work at Balena Project, comprising wide-spaced regional soil sampling and a small area of grid soil sampling, produced sparse weak gold anomalism.
The Company’s auger sampling program tested across two elongate bodies of mafic volcanics interpreted from the government regional magnetic data. Resulting elongate gold anomalies coincide with the margins of those bodies. A second phase of auger sampling extended the data to 645 samples and the gold corridor to 11 km. Further augering will be required to trace the corridor of gold anomalism the 4km south toward the permit boundary.
